Gene Lab 1.1 is now Available in the iTunes App Store.

I have submitted Gene Lab 1.1. It should be available in the next few weeks.

What’s in 1.1:

• In App Settings Menu
• 3 New Creature Types

Simply Lists 1.1.1 is now Available and all current users should see the update in iTunes over the next couple of days.

This release fixes an issue with deleting tasks in any of the special lists.

Version 1.1.1 of Simply Lists has been submitted to Apple and is currently in Review.  It will most likely be 1-2 weeks before this bug fix release is available in iTunes.

This new version of  Simply Lists includes a fix for the delete bug I previously mentioned.

Found an application crash bug when you delete an item in any of the ’special’ lists. i.e. Tag lists, Due Today, etc…  The item gets deleted but the app crashes. Sorry about that, this is related to a bug I fixed in the 1.1 release, but I did not catch this one in time.

I should have the bug fixed and an update submitted soon.

Apple has approved the 1.1 version of Simply Lists and it should be available for purchase and update in the app store soon.

The 1.1 version of Simply Lists requires the 3.0 OS, do not update the app if you do not yet have 3.0. If you don’t have 3.0 Why Not? It’s a great upgrade even if you have to pay for it on the iPod Touch.

Simply Lists v1.1 has the following improvements and fixes:

• Support for iPhone OS 3.0 Built In Email
• Improved E Mail format
• Landscape Keyboard in name and note editing
• New toolbar icon for Tags view
• Support for sharing lists via iPhone OS 3.0 Peer to Peer (This feature does not work on 1st generation iPhones or the 1st generation iPod touch)
• Fixed bug with list renaming
• Fixed bug with sounds not working
• Fixed crash bug with search and tag lists

Sales of Simply Lists has been fairly slow so far. One or two sales per day since release.  Thanks go out to everyone that has bought the app so far.  One reason for this might be that I have done very little to promote the app so far. There are a couple of bugs including a crash that I have fixed in 1.1.  I want to limit the negative reviews due to this bug. I even considered removing it from the store until the fix is available.

Once the 1.1 version is available I believe things will pick up. I intend to submit the app to some review sites and I may put the app on sale for a week or two to see how that impacts things.

My second app Gene Lab is still in review but should be available for purchase soon for $0.99. I’m looking forward to hearing what people think of it, I can take it in several different directions. Better graphics, creature looks, animation, I’ve considered  doing a battle mode of some kind as well.

I have begun work on a couple other apps as well. One is a straight forward RSS reader app. The other may become a game, but it will take more time.

Waiting is hard.  My new app Gene Lab was submitted a week ago and I hope it will be approved soon.

The 1.1 update for Simply Lists is taking longer to make its way through the approval process than I expected.  Discussions on the official developer forum seem to indicate that there is a big backlog of updates going through the system right now.  Hopefully the update will be released soon.
